Governance & DUNA

WYDE is not just a platform that gives money away on your behalf. The people who hold the token vote on where the money goes. A specific legal structure makes that possible and credible.

WYDE is two separate entities (an Association and a Foundation, structured like AARP). The full breakdown, with addresses, lives on Association & Foundation. In short:

  • A Wyoming Decentralized Unincorporated Nonprofit Association (DUNA) with 501(c)(4) status, which operates the token economy. $EAT is issued under Wyoming statute W.S. 17-32-101 et seq.
  • The WYDE Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity (IRS determination effective March 3, 2026), built to receive and direct charitable support.

Why the 501(c)(3) matters: contributions to the Foundation are now tax-deductible, which brings philanthropic capital, donor-advised funds, and institutions that can only give to qualified charities into play, on top of an already transparent, on-chain model. Companies or individuals wanting to support hunger relief tax-deductibly can reach the Foundation at invest@wyde.org, or visit foundation.wyde.org.

DUNA itself (a 2024 Wyoming framework) gives the association legal clarity and limited liability, and is what lets a token community legally direct charitable funding.

Governance happens in the $EAT app at app.eat.ong (log in through Telegram). There, holders vote on which nonprofits receive funding, a direct say in where the impact goes that almost no token offers.

Per the official disclosures, governance voting rights for $EAT holders are scheduled to activate in 2026, with holders selecting hunger-relief partners, weighing in on distribution, and shaping impact priorities.

Because the team, nonprofit partners, community rewards pools, and treasury all vest on the same meals-funded milestones (see Tokenomics & Fees), governance is not a side feature. Everyone is steering toward the same measurable outcome: more meals funded.
